There are many things that suggest that TWoT is set on our Earth, either far in the future or past. We all know that the heroes are reborn every age. I don't know much about horses, but most people would agree that Phar Lap is the hero horse type animal of our age, so Bela would most likely be Phar Lap reborn, or vice versa.
Pento McGreno says: Brilliant connection.
No, really.
Bela is obviously Phar Lap.
Now we can sit back and wonder if anyone outside of Australia will understand this.

Including me. Tell me tell me tell me tell me.
(Personally, I'd go for Bucephalus is Bela reborn, but...

Can anyone tell me what's going on at DragonSworn? Is the site dead?

I didn't get this.

As for the Dragonsworn li-whatever, everything is OK but this should rather be posted on the MB.
????
Why couldn't Phar Lap be Canadian?

Phar Lap was a very famous race horse in Australia a few decades ago. He died in suspicious circumstances - think JFK with horses, and without the guns...
Think about it - if the Forsaken want to tear the hearts out of most of the major characters, they have only to strike at their leader - BELA.
If Bela is a reinkarnation of anything, I think that Sleipner would fit better. You know the eight-feet horse of Odin.

OK isn't this getting a little out of hand? Although I'm enlightened to learn of Phar Lap, come on.
This isn't as bad as Perrin=Verin though.
....how could I have missed it!
I don't know about Phar Laps heart, but his body is in the museum of Victoria, in Melbourne.
ahahahhaa
Phar Lap, the marvel and master of horse racing...
And nobody but us aussies know about him, well i think thats hilarious.
I am a Melbournite and i knew the second that the question was asked if anyone outside AUS would know who Phar Lap was that we would get some dumb-founded american folk..
ahh well we cant blame them, ignorance is in thier blood, like excessive drinking is in ours...

His heart was in the national museum in Canberra. There is now a theory that this heart is not really Phar Lap's at all, but is an imposter.
Everyone seems to have missed a very important point. Phar Lap was a KIWI horse. A NEW ZEALAND horse. His skeleton is in Te Papa Tongawera, our national museum. He is a KIWI horse, just like Sunline and Zabeel. NOT an Aussie horse. He has been claimed by Aussies for years, like many other Kiwi things, but he belongs to us. THEY are all just jealous.

So there.

Bela's in books 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and I forget if she's in the rest. The only thing I don't understand is how can Bela be this "legendary" Phar Fig Newton if it's said she is, in fact, the Creator!?
Oh yeah, and Perrin does equal Verin. I can't believe people are just realizing this. I thought it was a known fact.
Egwene mentions that she would rather be riding Bela than Dai'Shar (Glory) in A Morning of Victory.
And she is SO Phar Lap! Brilliant! *sighs* at last, proof us Kiwis will be important in the 3rd age. *Smiles beatifically*

Phar Lap lived and raced in Australia. He was Australian.
but yeah, he was a kiwi horse. but does it really matter, the 2 countries argue over all the important stuff, like pavlova, russel crowe, and footrot flats. and jay legaia(...still not too sure there...)
but yeah, any kiwis want to talk wot? i'm thinking a dfs in the summer sounds good....

Hey, some Americans know about Phar Lap as well (22 y-o Females at that). Derby winner, but I don't think he won the Triple Crown. My personal favie faves are Swale (Derby, 1985?) and Spectacular Bid (would've been three Triple Crown Winners in a row, but hey, more important things happened that year 1979, ie, I was born. hahaahahaaa) Anyway, love the theory. But I might think that Seabiscuit is more appropriate, as he was a bit of a runt as well.
Cheers

who has got the bledislow?
How can a horse's

body be in one museum while it's skeleton is in another?
I wnot even pretend to understand
Good theory, except Bela gets depicted as a plodder, not a charger. Who knows, maybe both horses have big hearts...
I'm with Ruathain shes definately Shergar.
Does anyone remember that she's Rands horse not Egwene's, who seems to have forgotten this and appropriated her.
Phar Lap was an australian race horse, famous for the come-from-behind-win. His owner thought he would make him rich if brought over to the americas to race against the super-horses, despite running the opposite way around the track. Unfortunately, he was poisoned during his tour here, obviously thought of as a threat by American thoroughbred owners (shame on them!) It was a great movie, and i cried at the end of it. It was so sad how he died, but he was a great horse...i'd have to say even better than bela. BTW, Breyer collectibles actually has made models of phar lap, right down to the distinctive crescent moon marking on his forehead
Nobody outside of Australia is going to understand this...
