Ok, so RJ said Sammeal was dead...many times! But he has also stated in the Eye of the World that Aginor was dead, but, then Osan'gar turned up, which is Aginor. So, in theory Sammael is dead, but (for example) Taran'gar is alive!
I want my theory to be wrong, as RJ has done this too many times already.

Okay, yes, Aginor died, but to further plot and whatnot, RJ needed him back. He needed something to make the Forsaken look more evil and stronger than they appeared in EoTW. Rand killing Aginor, and Balthamel being killed in conjunction with Moiraine and the Nym made the Forsaken not as rough and tough as they should have been. It made the Forsaken look weak. RJ needed the 'Gars to make them more menacing.
And who would be Taran'gar?

Rand killed Sammael using BALEFIRE, and so
REMOVING HIM COMPETELY FROM THE PATTERN.
But in tEotW when Aginor and Balthamel were killed balefire was NOT used, so they were just killed and NOT removed from the pattern. And since the grave belongs to the
dark one, he was able to bring them back to life, although in different bodies.
So the dark one can bring back ALL the dead forsaken NOT killed by balefire, only those entirely REMOVED from the pattern are beyond his reach.

can you be so sure that Rand balefired him? Perhaps mashadar got him. I'd still think that means he can't be brought back to life of course as I would think the soul would be trapped with the rest of the deadly mist rather than returning to the DO.

but could you give me a reference to these famed, quoted, Jordan says? I'd like to read them myselves, if they exist. Thank you for the reference. I believe that maybe on the theory post (pay attention admins) you ought to put a link to these interviews under the useful tools so we avoid this. I certainly did not know about them and could have and probably have been repeating something contrary to what RJ has said.
This is the source, guys! Put a link there! I doubted everything anybody had said that Jordan had said, but I read the articles and believe...still there could be errors there, you are under no legal obligation but I sincerely doubt you would misquote on purpose.
Therefore, lets at least advertise a little that RJ has said some things and *insert link here* is where you go to find it. Perfect place: with the other useful tools.
But y'all still do a great job. Just thought this might make some of our redundant, anti-jordan info theories disappear.

When Jordan is saying "Sammael is Toast" i assume He is not returing as Sammael, but is it possible that Sammael's body is destoryed but his soul was consumed by Mashiara and he will come to try to kill rand as a more evil and stronger foe. I kno it is not proven but i hate to see such a powerful "baddie" killed off the way he was.
